Joining other discarded technologies of late, including the Flip video camera, Kodachrome, and the humble floppy disk is the typewriter, which will no longer be produced anywhere in the world. The last company on earth to produce the typewriter — Godrej and Boyce — has shut down its product…

Both of these theories seem sound to me, and the first option in the second theory could be the basis for Portal 3, maybe.

Because people tend to be really sensitive about spoilers, I’ve rot13’d two theories I’ve come up with while playing Portal 2. You can decode these theories by pasting the content below into this site.
I have many reasons why I despise PC gaming and prefer Console Gaming. The latest one to get added to the list: License Keys.
What’s so bad about license keys? Glad you asked. Let me set up a couple of examples for you:
I recently bought Portal 2 for my Xbox 360. It cost me approximately $60. For that $60, I have been able to play, my wife has been able to play, and my son has been able to play. If my second cousin twice removed came for a visit, he could also play, as could some stranger off the street, should I decide to invite him into my home to do so.
On the other hand, I just bought Darkspore on the PC. It cost me approximately $50. For that $50, I can play. If my wife wants to play, it costs another $50. If my son wants to play, it costs another $50. If my second cousin twice removed wants to play, it costs ANOTHER $50! And I should mention that this is not just to be able to play multiplayer together; this is what it costs to even be able to play single-player. Games which require multiple purchases for multiplayer I can understand, but to be able to play single-player?
…And people wonder why piracy is so rampant on the PC!
Can’t afford a Mac? Build your own paper version. Into vintlage gaming? Build your own pinball machine or classic arcade cabinet. Huge Star Wars fan? Build your own TIE fighter, AT-AT or even the Millenium Falcon. Into Angry Birds? Why not create your own table-top version? In awe of the Taj Mahal? Build your own. The list goes on and on… You’ll love them.
